Sexual tension at its finest.

The essence of Ballroom Rumba is that of a couple enjoying prolonged sexual tension and infatuation. The dance moves dramatically between individualized dancing and close embraces, with wide sweeping gestures of the arms mixed with slow curvaceous sways of the body. The hip movement of the Rumba is unapologetically sexual. Dancers use controlled rocking and swivelling movements in their hips to entice each other’s appeal.

Ballroom Rumba is part of both the International Latin group of ballroom dances and the American Rhythm group of ballroom dances. If you wish to learn Ballroom Rumba, seek out your local ballroom dance studios. Experiencing this dance socially (away from your local ballroom dance studios) on a regular basis will likely be a challenge.
